After spending two years at Roma and a subsequent loan spell at Valencia, Kluivert’s return to the Stadio Olimpico hasn’t gone as planned. The new Roma manager, José Mourinho, has no place for him in his plans, leading to discussions of a potential move.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth is currently engaged in advanced talks with Roma to secure the services of the 24-year-old winger. The negotiations have reached a critical stage, and Roma’s director, Tiago Pinto, is expected to travel to London on Friday to continue the discussions and meet with West Ham for another potential deal involving Gianluca Scamacca.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Bournemouth has shown interest in Roma’s players. During the January transfer window, they pursued Nicolò Zaniolo, but the Italian international declined the offer, choosing not to join the Cherries.
For Kluivert, his Roma career has been far from what he anticipated. Moving to the Italian capital in 2018 for €17.2m, he was subsequently loaned out to RB Leipzig, OGC Nice, and Valencia from 2020 onwards. Despite his efforts, he scored only nine goals in 68 appearances for the Giallorossi.

It remains to be seen if Bournemouth can secure Kluivert’s services and provide him with a fresh opportunity to reignite his career. Meanwhile, the young winger will continue to hope for a chance to fulfill his dream of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
