Accenture takes over Olikka in $3B cloud push

Just recently Accenture has acquired Melbourne-based AWS and Microsoft partner Olikka in a deal believed to worth $3B.

It must be noted that the acquisition of Olikka will forms part of Accenture’s willing commitment to invest US$3 billion in its cloud business over the next three years as agreed by them and will help them expand its AWS and Azure capabilities in Australia and New Zealand which they see as a real market for them.

Judging by history, Olikka was Founded in 2011as an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner with more than 20 AWS certifications and nearly 30 Microsoft Azure certifications.

With the financial deal of the acquisition not stated it must be noted that the cloud solutions provider has about 50 staff already which will further enhance the global capabilities of Accenture Cloud First once the deal is completed.

As a multi-service group providing the full stack of cloud services, Accenture encompassing 70,000 cloud professionals that bring a good depth and breadth of cloud expertise to any business they are involved like industry cloud solutions, ecosystem partner capabilities and assets.

Although Michael Pascoe who is Olikka managing director said that joining Accenture was a remarkable opportunity for its team to accelerate growth and achieve more in life.

Quoting him saying that “We’ve always made a difference for our clients, and with Accenture’s add to us ,the resources, scale, and ecosystem partnerships we can now scale-up that impact with cloud transformation projects of any size and type.

He continued to say that “We look forward to contributing our ingenuity, skills and culture to the Accenture team, and to helping clients in the region use cloud to innovate faster and quality difference.”

According to Accenture A/NZ tech lead, Scott Hahn saying that with the addition of Olikka to Accenture which will immediately reinforce Accenture’s position as a leading AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud partner in both Australia and New Zealand market.

Mr Scott Hahn in his word continue to say that “We’re confident it will also accelerate our growth through services complimentary to our Cloud First capabilities and makes us a better player in the industry .
He also continued to say that “With the addition of Olikka’s talented team of cloud application developers present will be better positioned than ever to help companies in the Australian and New Zealand market to achieve their goals and also deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity,” Narain said.

History also have it that in the the past 18 months, Accenture hav been involved in a number of strategic investments to expand and enhance its technology capabilities in both Australia and New Zealand and with the coming of Olikka along the way including cloud solutions technology firm Zag with other like data analytics and supply chain management company Icon Integration; security consultancy Context Information Security; business strategy and econometrics firm AlphaBeta; specialist government consultancy, Apis Group, big data and analytics company Analytics8; and cybersecurity and technology company BCT Solutions will all reposition Accenture for a better tomorrow.
