The Opportunity:

Fisher Phillips, a renowned international employment and labor law firm, is seeking a Data Analyst II to enhance our firm’s capabilities. As a Data Analyst II, you will work under the supervision of an attorney, providing high-quality analytical support to benefit our clients and assist our legal teams. You are expected to achieve a minimum of 1500 billable hours per performance year, which runs from October 1 to September 30. Note that this role does not involve providing legal advice to clients.

Position Responsibilities:

Damage Model Creation: Develop models to estimate gross damage exposure for significant claims based on relevant statutes. Design and implement Excel reports and formulas to predict damages under various scenarios, collaborating with attorneys to adjust data as needed.
Time Card Analysis: Identify meal period violations and other insights through time card analysis. Modify formulas to perform “what if” scenarios, such as calculating penalties for a specific number of plaintiffs with various break and overtime patterns.
Data Management: Handle confidential client data with precision. Perform quality control, clean, aggregate, and transform diverse data formats into Excel for detailed analysis.
Model Checking: Verify the accuracy of modeling results and generate reports as required.
Payroll Analysis: Assess payroll and time data to ensure accurate wage distribution. Design and manipulate pay plan calculators to help clients determine owed wages based on commission and bonus criteria.
Spreadsheet Analysis: Create and modify spreadsheets for analyzing business data, such as profit and loss statements related to case defenses.
Project Management: Ensure timely completion and progression of projects, managing deadlines and tasks effectively.
Data Interpretation: Identify statistical trends through aggregation, sorting, and analysis of client data. Collaborate with team members, attorneys, paralegals, and class action lawyers.
Statistical Analysis: Conduct statistical estimation, testing for adverse impact in employer practices, and linear/logistic regression modeling for pay equity reviews.
Excel Expertise: Utilize advanced Excel skills to identify trends in Human Resources data and other business metrics.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience: 2-4 years of data analyst experience, preferably with some legal experience.
Technical Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite. Experience with Python and Tableau is preferred.
Attributes: Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in routine billable time and cost tracking.
Professionalism: Reliable, punctual, and able to handle high-stress situations with a professional demeanor.

Salary Range:

The hourly rate for this position is $37.50 – $43.70. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
