Human Resources Counsel - United States - Remote - $141.5K/yr - $245K/yr We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HR Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support on Human Resources (HR) matters. This remote role will require quarterly travel to our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. In this position, you will serve as a vital resource for legal issues related to HR policies, employee relations, compliance, and processes. You will play a key role in resolving disputes, drafting contracts, and ensuring our legal practices align with current laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Support: Offer guidance to HR Governance management and associates to mitigate legal risks. Collaborate with internal and external counsel to address and resolve legal matters.
Business Support: Provide consulting services on HR-related transactions and sensitive issues. Develop and implement enterprise-wide policies and procedures.
Documentation: Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts and other legal documents. Create and update legal forms and templates.
Policy Resource: Monitor and interpret federal and state laws, regulations, and court rulings to assess their impact on HR practices. Simplify complex legal concepts for associates.

Qualifications

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years in general practice or in-house employment law.
Preferred: Admission to the California Bar and/or extensive knowledge of California employment law with flexibility to work Pacific Time Zone hours.

Preferred Experience

In-house legal counsel experience within a large financial institution.
Broad expertise in employment law matters, including performance management, terminations, leaves of absence, workplace investigations, benefits plans, executive compensation, M&A, immigration, wage and hour issues, labor relations, restrictive covenants, and employment litigation.
Compensation

Base Salary: $141,500 – $245,000 per year. Actual base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors. Total compensation may include variable incentives, bonuses, and additional benefits.
