Report have finally stated that the Spain international who joined the Blues from Atletico on loan earlier this summer with plenty of hype after his arrival is not in the plan of the Blues on a permanent deal.

Although the midfielder has struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, and he has hardly played since his last debut with the club.

Based on the agreement with Atletico, the Blues have the option to sign the 26-year-old on a permanent basis for around £30m next summer if they want.

But the west London giants are expected to decline the clause with manager Thomas Tuchel having his sights on another midfielder who he sees as a better option with the club.

The Blues are keen on luring Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, whose contract concludes at the end of the current campaign with the club.

It was also noted that the Croatian can negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club in January, and the Blues are likely to place an offer on the table for the experienced marksman.

Saul joined the Blues with a big reputation, but he has made just three appearances – one of which came in the League Cup and seen them he has leaved below expectation
