The world is changing and everything about it is changing like in the areas of Health,Production,Tech etc are all changing. One laptop that is standing out is the new Dell XPS 13 which is probably Dell’s most popular laptop, perhaps not
in terms of numbers sold but because it is a high-end product, but it must be noted that in terms of branding and overall product features i must say it is right there at the top. Tech team are now concerned about reviewing the different type of laptop from different brand names based on some factor which is considered as a key factor in it functions and acceptability by users.
Factors to be considered in it reviews are as follow.
Dell XPS Configuration.
Based on it configuration review, the following was discovered by our Tech Team .It was configured with the following components: Intel Core i7-1065G7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and with costs approximately ~$1449.99 on the Dell website as viewed.
It must be noted that Dell have a large array of configurations going from the 10th generation of Intel Core i3 to Intel Core i7, with 8, 16, and 32GB of memory. Storage options varies from 256GB, 512GB and 1TB with is standard to them.
With the very cheapest entry-level model which is valued at $999.99 while the full option or fully loaded one costs more than $2000 on Dell’s website.
It was noted that all Dell systems also feature Killer AX1650 WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1 for the purists, but these are typically not a key factors which makes the unique.
One features which is unique to the Dell XPS 13 is its compact form-factor and excellent industrial design which speaks for itself and for that reason, it is often mentioned as a potential “MacBook Pro 13 Killer”, and there is a lot of truth to that if you are willing to use Windows on it.
Based on Dell design team and tech men who where able to get a close look inside the laptop and background information about the various changes and technical challenges associated with this new XPS 13 model.
While it is very impressive on such much a technology, Dell was able to fit in such a small space in a very compact laptop and which is more compact than the MacBook Air, which is often thought of a reference for small 13.3-inch laptops.
Tech Analyst are saying that the XPS 13 leaves the MacBook Air in the dust because it uses the latest processor design from Intel which is very unique to it design and other features.
While the saying “THE XPS 13 LEAVES THE MACBOOK AIR IN THE DUST” which every laptop lover have in mind but one thing must also be noted that both laptops share the same weight, but the XPS 13 is more compact than any other. Based on common comparisons that the XPS 13 is going through right now.
It must also be noted that the Lenovo X1 Carbon is significantly lighter at 1090g vs. 1270g. an Still, the X1 Carbon is also considerably larger in some factors, because of its 14” display which is good and also because of a focus towards sturdiness (MIL-STD-810G certified) as agreed by tech scientist.
With the above features and with Dell willing to achieve such a feat, Dell have to explored every possible solution to save space and pushed laptop industrial design to its limit to produce this new XPS 13 (9300) which makes them stand out.
The keyboard has large keys and is very comfortable to use. It does not have features such as curved surfaces, but the key-travel (~1mm?) and tactile feedback are both very decent.
Based on my review i have a special love for the keyboard which is its backlighting, which creates a soft touch around the keys, in addition to lighting up the character at the center for any users to see and enjoy the keys. I am very optimistic that this detail was quite challenging to be integrated into these new model, and I pray other brands may copy such challenging feature into their new models too.
We also observed that the Dell XPS 13 model 9300 only has two USB-C ports with both supporting Thunderbolt 3, the fastest and most versatile protocol that enables multi-monitor, high-speed storage, and even external GPUs sometimes as we all know.
If your are not familiar with it usage you might still run into the issue of forgetting your USB-C dongle, like simple task such as connecting to a projector, or even using a simple USB key storage device.
Observation have shown that if your work requires constant use of USB-A and full-size HDMI/monitor ports, you have to take some few minute to evaluate the downside of not having these ports built-in. but that is the price to pay for having an ultra-compact unique laptop like these..
Review of the sound quality of the Dell XPS 13 is very interesting and good, especially for a laptop of that size with unique features. You will not have any issues watching movies and placing high-quality video calls on it as all depends on you.
Further review also shows that the Dell XPS 13 (9300) has a great IPS LCD display with excellent color reproduction (100% sRGB coverage), decent and lovely brightness (268 NITs), along with some incredibly good contrast and color uniformity that get 4.5/5 and 4.5/5 according to our SpyderXElite monitor analysis based figures.
The Dell XPS bezels are impressively thin, and that’s one of the reasons why the XPS 13 can be so insanely compact for now. One thing you must note is that you cannot make a laptop smaller than the display size, including the bezels, and that’s the ultimate place to optimize right now.
Dell as we all know is big player in laptop manufacturing with lovely and unique features like the Dell XPS 13 2020 webcam which is relatively standard from an image quality standpoint, but how small the camera module is, is quite remarkable (for a laptop).
In 2020 it was noted that several OEMs, including Dell , HP are using extremely small camera modules in their laptops, which allows you to have a thin bezel and top-mounted webcam at the same time bot as a combined feature.
Although It was also noted that the XPS 13 9300 does not come with a pen and is not compatible with a digital pen which we all know. You can use a simple rubber-tip pen that simulates a touch-screen interaction if you want.
Special emphasis should also be noted that the Dell has another laptop, the XPS 13 2-in-1 (model 7390), which is compatible with the Dell Premium Active Pen and if you do Creative Work and require a pen, you might want to look at that one too.
One should also note that there are relatively small computing speed variations between laptops that run on the same processor but in Generally the benchmarks should be more about what “brand or class” of laptops you are looking at for now or rather than trying to over-analyze a small 5% difference here and there which might count or not
Our Tech team are reviewing(on the internet and personal) saying that people are comparing the Dell XPS 13 with the Dell XPS 15, and that is why we’re going to adding the 15-inch version numbers here because there are significant speed differences to highlight on both of them.
Special note is observed that the Dell XPS 13 Core i7 unit is very well equipped when compared with other popular computers namely the Microsoft Surface Laptop and the MacBook Air 13. While we note that the Microsoft laptop is not far behind, the MacBook Air’s aging processor design is far back when we look at the Dell system.
Other things should also be considered like the multicore CPU and graphics performance, which are both much higher than the fastest version of XPS 13 but for Video editing i think you should consider the Dell XPS 17 for now.
We are of the view which is s not surprising because the XPS 15 has a higher-performing CPU option than most laptops and a discrete graphics processor.
Although the large chassis gives room for a much better thermal management, and if you want superior “absolute performance,” the XPS 15 is the best of the two.
We where able to review the Batter life which shows that the XPS 13 9300 has a battery capacity of 52 Wh, which is very comparable in its type with virtually all the close competitors that have a similar battery size as we all know.
With all the above feature which is an equivalent CPU configuration and the differences between different laptops will depend on whether there is a 4K display (- 20% to 30% battery life) or other unique features not really visible.
The battery test which executes productivity tasks continuously and this laptop lasted for ~14h41mn, which is quite impressive and very good.
We also take into consideration the battery charge speed at 34Wh per 60mn of charge, which is not just ordinary like the the Lenovo Yoga C940 which has a charging speed of 42Wh per 60mn – that’s significantly faster (~23%).
Although the Dell XPS 13’a power supply is tiny and more comfortable to carry around and which makes it good for software programmer to buy.
With the fast speed of charging which is particularly useful to long distance travelers or highly mobile users who cannot access an electric outlet easily on the go and for people who go to a meeting here and there it is very good as a Laptop.
In conclusion the Dell XPS 13 is best ultra-compact 13.3” laptop and with excellent reputation. It is an all-around computer that cuts no corners, and even though you might complain about the lack of a USB-A port which is normal to it.
