According to former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, Joao Felix has been the missing piece in the Chelsea squad for many years.
The Atletico Madrid forward has made an impressive impact during his loan spell, despite being sent off in his debut against Fulham. Since his return from suspension, Felix has continued to impress, scoring against West Ham United and Everton.

Both Chelsea and Felix appear to want a permanent move, and Wright-Phillips believes that securing the Portuguese player’s future should be a priority.
Wright-Phillips noted that Chelsea had been lacking the attacking threat of players like Frank Lampard and Eidur Gudjohnsen in the past, but Felix could fill that void.
He also praised the potential defensive solidity that could come from pairing Enzo Fernandez and N’Golo Kante. Although Mykhailo Mudryk has yet to hit his stride at Chelsea, Wright-Phillips remains optimistic about the £88 million signing.
Wright-Phillips also expressed his admiration for Chelsea manager Graham Potter, saying that he makes players better, but noted that it would take time for him to achieve success.
He believes that with all the pieces starting to fall into place, Chelsea will be challenging for the upper echelons of the Premier League table next season.
