Report shows that Liverpool have already spoken directly to Matheus Nunes about the possibility of moving to Anfield.
That’s according to a respected journalist Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his YouTube channel this morning, the transfer expert said Liverpool and Nunes were in touch last summer, before the midfielder joined Wolves.
Now, less than six months later, Romano says the Reds are ‘really, really interested’ in signing the 24-year-old.
“Not just Jude Bellingham, they [Liverpool] have other options. It’s not just as an alternative, because Matheus Nunes can be one more midfielder in the sense that Liverpool will probably lose Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a free. From what I’m told, Naby Keita also has real possibilities to leave Liverpool on a free transfer. Let’s see if the situation will change with the contact talks in the next months, but this is a possibility,” he explained.
“This is why Matheus Nunes can be a serious option for Liverpool. I’m told a potential move to Liverpool was already discussed with the player when he accepted last summer to join Wolverhampton from Sporting.

“The player was tempted by the Premier League in general, but already discussed this possibility with Liverpool. So, this is what happened with Matheus Nunes and Liverpool. Keep an eye on this possibility for Matheus Nunes to join the club in the summer. Liverpool are really, really interested.”
