After more than four years at Leicester, former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been dismissed by the club’s chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha following their 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.
Despite leading the team to their first-ever European semi-final last season and securing their victory in the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2021, Rodgers failed to secure Champions League qualification in two consecutive seasons.
Over the last two years, the team has seen a decline under Rodgers’ leadership, finishing eighth last season and currently sitting second from the bottom in the Premier League, facing the possibility of relegation.

The club released a statement expressing gratitude for the achievements under Rodgers’ guidance but stating that recent performances and results have fallen below expectations.
The board hopes that with ten games remaining in the season, they can come together and fight to secure their position as a Premier League club.
Liverpool.com says: Rodgers never really recovered from Leicester missing out on Champions League football two seasons in a row, especially considering they were in the driver’s seat in both of those campaigns, capitulating near the end in both. The air had been let out of the balloon, and it seems the right decision to bring in a new manager with a fresh impetus and try to get the club out of the relegation zone.
