Report shows that Marseille and their former manager Marcelo Bielsa have reached a settlement over their legal battle regarding the Argentine’s salary.

The coach had resigned in the wake of the first match of the 2015/16 season, a loss to Caen, after a first campaign that had seen the team top the league for much of the year before falling to fourth place.

It must be noted that Bielsa, who most recently managed Leeds, was claiming €3m from his former club, with his lawyers taking the case to court in September of last year over what they alleged to be disloyal behaviour on the part of Marseille regarding the way his contract was handled.

Notably, they claimed that a 25% raise he had been promised for his second season by then-president Vincent Labrune never came.

The €3m figure covered his salary for the 2015/16 season as well as various damages. Neither party has opted to reveal the contents of the settlement, nor have they decided to submit it for the judge’s approval, add AFP.
