Report shows that Inter could be forced to sell defender Alessandro Bastoni during the summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that there is still significant distance to be made up in contract extension talks with the 23-year-old and that Manchester City and Chelsea are keen.

Although Inter have made extending Bastoni’s contract as soon as possible a priority, as the club are determined to avoid the same kind of situation that has happened with Milan Skriniar.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri’s intention is to try and get contract talks wrapped up before the summer transfer window, so that it is clear that Bastoni will extend his deal past the end of June 2024 and there is no chance of his leaving on a free transfer like the Slovakian.
However, the Gazzetta reports, Inter are still far away from Bastoni’s demands.
It must be noted that the 23-year-old is seeking wages of €5.5 million net per season to put pen to paper on a new deal, whilst the Nerazzurri have so far risen as high as €4 million net per season plus add-ons.
Given that there is still this significant distance to be made up, there is hardly any certainty that a new contract will arrive before the summer transfer window.
Also Big clubs in the Premier League are keeping an eye on the situation, and according to the Gazzetta both of Man City and Chelsea would be poised to move should Inter decide to listen to offers.
