Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has rejected claims that he might be headed to Al-Nassr to reunite with his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.Modric denied he would have to retire from internationals in order to remain at Real Madrid

The Croatian international, who has been linked to a lucrative move to the Saudi Arabian club, stressed his desire to stay at Real for the remainder of his career.

Despite rumours that Real was unhappy with Modric’s decision to continue playing for Croatia following a dip in form after the World Cup, the 37-year-old hopes to extend his contract with Real for at least another year.

He has played 473 matches for Real since joining from Tottenham in 2012, winning five Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, and the Copa del Rey.

Modric also became the first player since 2007 not named Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d’Or award in 2018, after leading Croatia to the World Cup final and impressing for Real.
