Furthermore, they have been ‘a regular presence’ at the Estadio do Dragao to track his performances in recent months.
Costa signed a new contract with Porto earlier this season. In the process, his release clause was increased to €75 million.
It will be interesting to see whether the Red Devils are willing to meet that figure when the transfer window reopens.
Apart from United, Chelsea are also firm admirers of Costa while Barcelona have been linked with him regularly in the past.
