Although the Scotland international was an undisputed starter at left-back earlier in his Gunners career, but he is now struggling for minutes.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is currently the preferred choice under manager Mikel Arteta and this may not change unless he gets injured.

Romano has now revealed that Tierney is genuinely concerned over his future, but won’t consider his options until the campaign ends.

Meanwhile, the Gunners also need to make a decision over Nuno Tavares, who has been hugely impressive in his loan spell at Marseille.

Tavares could be reinstated as the second-choice left-back if Tierney were to leave the club during this summer’s transfer window.

The Scot is currently on the radar of Newcastle United. The Magpies could be prepared to meet the asking price of around £30m.

Arsenal are expected to make several high-profile signings this summer and this could coincide with a few players being sold.
