LEEDS UNITED SET TO SIGN BRAZILIAN LYON WINGER MATEUS TETÊ

Report from L’Équipe, Tetê, the Brazilian forward who is currently on loan at Olympique Lyonnais from Shakhtar Donetsk, is set to join Premier League team Leeds United.

Although the 22-year-old was not present at Lyon’s training on Friday, and it is believed that he has reached an agreement to terminate his loan in order to join the Premier League side.

Marc Mechenoua also reports that the player is absent from training, and that Tetê is set to depart Lyon within the next few hours – he reports that Tetê is currently in Leeds to finalise a move.

This season the Brazilian has featured in 17 Ligue 1 matches and scored six goals for Les Gones, registering three assists. The player joined Lyon following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, and featured in nine appearances last season, scoring two goals and contributing with five assists.

With Tetê’s departure and that of Karl Toko Ekambi, who has been loaned to Rennes, L’Équipe also report Lyon are expected to sign an offensive player before the transfer window closes and block the loan move of Bradley Barcola to FC St. Gallen.
