The ambitious midfielder was offered a new deal at Rangers but wasn’t convinced there was a pathway to become a first-team regular. Rangers were keen for him to remain part of their first-team squad but McCann believes he would be more beneficial playing regular first-team football.
Rangers signed McCann from Manchester United back in 2021. McCann has 12 appearances for Rangers and the Colts this season, scoring five goals in the process. His last appearance was in the weekend’s Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen
