Report shows that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has expressed his desire to remain at the club beyond the end of this season.
Although the 31-year-old’s future at Anfield has come into question in recent months, with his current contract due to expire in June.
Firmino has spent the last seven-and-a-half years with Liverpool since joining the club from Hoffenheim and has been a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s machine during a successful spell on Merseyside.
The Brazil international has scored 107 goals and provided 78 assists in 348 appearances across all competitions for the Reds and has won a total of seven trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.
Liverpool have endured a difficult 2022-23 campaign and currently sit ninth in the Premier League table, 10 points behind the top four and 19 behind leaders Arsenal.
However, a recent report claims that Liverpool are prioritising negotiations with Firmino over a new contract, and the forward has since revealed that he ‘intends to stay’ at the club.
