Report have it that Liverpool wanted Andreas Schjelderup but the Norwegian talent has snubbed the Reds in favour joining Benfica instead.

That’s according to TV2 in Norway, who claim that Liverpool and Brentford have both made proposals to Schjelderup’s representatives.

However, Schjelderup believes that Benfica is the best place for him and is rejecting the two Premier League clubs.

Nordsjaelland talent Schjelderup thinks that he can play a key role for Benfica in the coming years, something he seemingly doesn’t think will happen with Liverpool.

Although the 18-year-old is putting himself and his development first, which is refreshing to see from a young player.

It’s stated that Benfica will be paying NOK 150 million for Schjelderup, which works out to around £12.5million.

That makes Schjelderup the second most expensive Norwegian talent of all time, behind only Erling Haaland.
