According to report showing that Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Moroccan international midfielder Azzedine Ounahi this month.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Leeds United have submitted a bid for Azzedine Ounahi. And it remains to be seen whether the Whites can convince Angers to sell the 22-year-old this month.
The 22-year-old midfielder was outstanding for his country during the recently-concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup, helping Morocco reach the semi-finals of the tournament. Ounahi showcased excellent technical ability and flair in the middle of the park, and he was undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the tournament.
Although the young midfielder could prove to be a quality acquisition for Leeds United. And it remains to be seen whether the French outfit are prepared to accept the offer from the Whites. The details of the offer have not been revealed yet.
Leeds are currently 14th in the league table, and they will be hoping to finish in the top half. The Whites will need to improve their performances during the second half of the campaign. And a couple of quality additions in January could certainly help them. So the interest in Ounahi makes a world of sense.
The Whites are reportedly close to signing French forward Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim. And Ounahi would be another quality acquisition. Leeds must look to improve their attack, and the arrivals of Rutter and Ounahi will certainly help. Rutter could share the goalscoring burden alongside Rodrigo, and Ounahi will add creativity and vision in the middle.
The 22-year-old midfielder is yet to reach his peak, and he is only going to get better with experience and coaching. Jesse Marsch could help the Moroccan international develop further and fulfill his tremendous potential. But after excelling at the World Cup, it is unclear if Ounahi will be satisfied with joining a club of Leeds’s level.
The Morocco international has the technical ability to succeed in the Premier League and will be hoping to adapt quickly and make an immediate impact if he joins Leeds United. Apart from this technical ability and flair, Ounahi is a hardworking player whose relentless work ethic will help out the side defensively as well.
