Report have shown that Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly not yet opened discussions with Harry Kane over a new contract.

It must must be noted that the 29-year-old has again been in excellent form for Spurs during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 17 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Although it was noted that Kane has 15 Premier League strikes to his name this term, including a double against Crystal Palace last week, while he hit the winner in his team’s 1-0 victory over Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The England captain has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though, and there is again speculation surfacing surrounding his future.

Manchester City pushed to sign Kane in the summer of 2021, but the Citizens were unsuccessful in their pursuit and then switched their attention to Erling Braut Haaland the following year.

Bayern Munich are believed to be determined to sign Kane this summer, as the Bundesliga giants look to bring in a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s need for a centre-forward could see the Red Devils make an ambitious attempt to secure his signature during this summer’s transfer window.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have not yet opened talks with Kane over a new contract, with the player signalling that he is reluctant to begin discussions at this stage.

The report claims that the forward wants to see how the season unfolds for Antonio Conte’s side before deciding whether he will commit his future to the North London outfit.

Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League table on 33 points, two points behind fourth-placed Man United and 11 behind the leaders Arsenal, with both sides having a game in hand.

Spurs have now progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup, which might be the team’s best chance of securing silverware this season, as they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Nottingham Forest.

Conte’s side are also still in the Champions League, though, with the English outfit preparing to take on AC Milan in the last-16 stage of the competition.

Kane has scored 265 times for Tottenham in all competitions, which leaves him just one goal behind Jimmy Greaves on the all-time list for the North London giants.

Spurs will now switch their attention back to the Premier League, as they prepare to welcome rivals Arsenal to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next weekend.
