Report from our EPL reporter shows that Manchester United could reportedly make an approach to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger this summer.

It was noted that United have bolstered their central defensive department last summer with the big-money arrival of Raphael Varane from the spanish giant Real Madrid.

Although irrespective of his arrival last season there remains vulnerability at the heart of the defence with their key man Harry Maguire currently struggling with fitness.

Based on report from reputable media house Daily Mail saying that United are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Rudiger who recently turned down a fresh contract offer from the Blues.

Report also shows that Ralf Rangnick has been a fond admirer of the 28-year-old from his time in Bundesliga, and has recommended his name to the hierarchy for consideration.

The German tactician has only been appointed as the interim manager, but will take up an advisory role at the club for the next two seasons.

While the next permanent manager will want players of his own, Rangnick may also play a big role in the transfer proceedings this summer.

Based on club statistics saying that Rudiger will be available on a free transfer with his contract expiring in June. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on him.
